About Us

QuestTech Consulting, Inc. was founded by Dan Neal in 2000, Austin, Texas. The company has been actively in business for fourteen (14) years. QuestTech is an engineering consulting company established to develop Specification Compliance and Interoperability programs for the high-tech ecosystem. As an independent test provider and not a fixed location lab, QuestTech is able to bring testing to the customer location which makes the most sense. With over 100+ yrs high tech signal engineering experience from the Test & Measurement industry, QuestTech engineers have established partner relationships with the tier 1 Test and Measurement (T&M) community experts. QuestTech also provides key ingredients for compliance and interoperability test events with the necessary skills to drive new initiative enabling, development of integrator lists & logo award programs, and the development of compliance specifications & test definitions. Leveraging her engineering resources, QuestTech is also aptly suited to provide customer support programs with the development of technical documentation, issue tracking, problem reproduction, issue resolution, and data tracking & reporting. Again, QuestTech core competency is her capability to bring test programs to the customers who benefit the most.

Compliance & Interoperability

Within the high tech ecosystem, non-proprietary specifications are typically owned by a standards body or a special interest group made up of industry experts provided by their respective companies of employment. The standard body members consist of the companies which support the specifications owned and managed by that special interest group. QuestTech will work with the compliance committee within a given standards body to develop a compliance and interoperability program.

What is a compliance and interoperability program? Compliance is the validation of a device against the specification from which it was developed. Interoperability is the verification that one device which meets specification compliance, will work when plugged into another device, root complex, or system which is similarly specification compliant. The purpose for interoperability testing is to identify specification interpretation issues between two supporting member companies. A compliance and interoperability program will benefit member company sales and exposure by identifying devices which are specification compliant and will interoperate with the other devices and systems which adhere to that same specification. Member companies that pass both compliance and interoperability testing are placed onto an integrator list or logo certification list accessible to all standard body members. OEM Time-to-Market (TTM) and validation expenses are significantly reduced by working with member companies who have passed all compliance and interoperability tests and therefore make it to the integrator or logo list.
